Chris J. Coschignano is a Member and Partner of the Firm and concentrates his practice in the areas of zoning and land use planning, real estate law and transactions, municipal law, civil litigation in state and federal courts, corporate and commercial law, trusts and estates, and matrimonial and family law. Since 2002, Mr. Coschignano has served as an elected Councilman on the Town Board of the Town of Oyster Bay. In this capacity, he serves as Chairman of the Syosset Hamlet Revitalization Committee. Prior to serving as Councilman, Mr. Coschignano served as Counsel to the Zoning Board of Appeals for the Town of Oyster Bay from 1995 to 2001. Mr. Coschignano is a member of the American, New York State and Nassau County Bar Associations and the Nassau Lawyers’ and the Columbian Lawyers’ Associations. He is also a member of the Knights of Columbus, Sons of Italy, Syosset-Woodbury Rotary, Syosset Kiwanis, Oyster Bay Chamber of Commerce, Residents for a More Beautiful Syosset, and the North Syosset Civic Association. He is a member of the Board of Directors of the Oyster Bay-East Norwich Boys & Girls Club and the Syosset Chamber of Commerce. Mr. Coschignano serves on the Advisory Board for the North Shore Boys & Girls Club and Raynham Hall Museum, an historic museum located in Oyster Bay. He also serves as Co-Chair of the St. Edwards Church Festival Committee. During the course of his career, Mr. Coschignano has represented such distinguished clientele as The United States of America, The Justice Department of the United States of America, The Metropolitan Transportation Authority, The Metropolitan Suburban Bus Authority, The Town of Oyster Bay and other municipal, public and private entities, including international corporations, real estate developers and organizations. Prior to joining the Firm, Mr. Coschignano was a partner in a prominent Long Island law firm. Previously, he was engaged in private practice in his own law firm located in Syosset, New York. Mr. Coschignano was admitted to practice law in the State of New York and the State of Connecticut in 1990. Mr. Coschignano received his undergraduate degree from St. John’s University (B.S., 1985), and his law degree from Jacob D. Fuchsberg Touro Law Center at Touro College (J.D., 1990).
